About The Shot
New Providence, Bahamas/ 2022
"The intricate patterns of sand ripples on the ocean floor are crafted by the relentless ebb and flow of surface waves, shaping the sandy substrate beneath. In the absence of any other underwater structures, I conceived the idea of transforming the sandy bottom and the water's surface into the illusion of towering vertical walls. Both the freediver and I faced the challenge of recalibrating our sense of orientation in the water to bring this concept to life. Achieving the perfect positioning and composition proved to be a far more intricate task than either of us had initially anticipated. However, through several attempts, meticulous image reviews, and constructive critiques of each other's performance, we ultimately succeeded in capturing the desired shot."
