About The Shot
Long Island, Bahamas/ 2020
"During the Covid-19 lockdown, I found myself on a sailing catamaran in Long Island, Bahamas. We anchored in a shallow bay, where we spent most of the two months at sea, affording us ample time to explore the anchorage. On one of the initial days in this spot, I encountered a Southern Stingray and trailed it as it leisurely swam along the sandy bottom, foraging for food. Following the stingray led me to an old Casuarina Tree nestled in about 7 feet of water, partially exposed during low tide. This tree likely found its way into the ocean after being uprooted and blown in by one of the many hurricanes that frequent the Bahamas, now serving as an unexpected feature in the beautiful Clarence Town harbor."
