About The Shot
New Providence, Bahamas/ 2019
"A few yards off the shore of New Providence, Bahamas, lies the underwater sculpture "Lucayan Face" by Bahamian artist Andret John. This sculpture pays tribute to the Lucayan heritage of the Bahamas. Installed in 2014, it has since been covered by sand due to storm surges and shifting waves that batter the coastline. Thankfully, I was able to capture this photo before this piece of art was lost to the sea. If you venture to this dive site now and have a guide who knows where this sculpture once was, you may be able to see the only visible part of the sculpture: the tip of its nose."
