About The Shot
New Providence, The Bahamas/ 2024
Through my experiences, I've noticed that when most people think of sharks, they focus only on their teeth and the potential damage they can cause. However, I've always found the skin of sharks and the variety between species to be fascinating. This is the skin of a Caribbean Reef Shark, one of the most common shark species in the Bahamas. Their skin has reflective qualities, resembling an underlying layer of tinfoil that increases its shine. Light refracts off their gills with each pump of water the shark passes through them.
