Grand Bahama, Bahamas/ 2022
Prey versus predator. Size against numbers. The ultimate face-off between hunter and hunted. In the warm, shallow waters of the Bahamas, an adult tiger shark swims towards a large school of horse-eye jacks, who face the approaching shark head-on. Sharks typically scavenge, preying on dead, dying, or weak fish, which these jacks were not. Witnessing this standoff between a solitary shark and a school of fish inspired the title of this photograph: “Facing Giants.”
