"In this wide-angle shot, an underwater model performs a backward bend split over the powdery white sand of a blue hole’s rim, just before it plunges into deeper waters. The constant flow of water in this area has created a unique sand slope, and the sunlight piercing through the crystal-clear water reflects off the sand like a mirror, casting a brilliant glow. I aimed to highlight the features of the bright sloping sand sand and the exceptional underwater visibility, in contrast to the dark figured human subjects form into the scene. The model’s pose captures the sand’s reflection in her dive mask, showcasing the stunning clarity of the water. However, the underwater visibility can change rapidly—just minutes after this photo was taken, the rising tide transformed the crystal-clear water into a greenish pool, filled with seaweed and debris brought in by the current."
