About The Shot
Exuma, Bahamas/ 2025
This Green turtle came up from below and passed directly overhead, perfectly framed by the surface light above. I love moments like this because they show how effortlessly turtles move through the water—each fin stroke measured, calm, and intentional. Their shells tell stories too, marked by years of travel, encounters, and survival. Even though turtles often look like they’re smiling, their lives aren’t easy. Between mating battles, territorial interactions, boat strikes, and the constant search for food, every scar carries history. Seeing one glide past in conditions like this—clear water, soft light, total calm—is one of those reminders of why I keep coming back to the ocean with a camera in hand.
