About The Shot
New Providence, Bahamas/ 2022
"Our journey to capture this photograph was marked by two initial attempts, each failing before we ultimately achieved the desired result. The model and I embarked on a rigorous photo expedition in 2022, dedicating almost every day to navigating the waters for two weeks, regardless of the weather conditions. We were determined to seize any opportunity afforded by even the slightest glimmer of daylight. Following a grueling day of diving, we decided to conclude it in a shallower location that lent itself more readily to freediving and demanded fewer logistical complexities for creative endeavors. During our first attempt, I found the model’s wardrobe color less than satisfactory, and we lacked suitable alternatives. On the following day, our second attempt was thwarted by an expansive cloud obscuring the sun, resulting in inadequate underwater lighting. However, on the third and final day, having learned from our two days of practice (or perceived failure, depending on one's perspective), we possessed a comprehensive understanding of how to approach the task and the specific measures required to achieve success."
